We have been connected with the not-for-profit agency, Adoption STAR, since 2009 and have appreciated their support and assistance over the years.
During our first adoption, Adoption STAR helped to facilitate an Agency-Assisted Private Adoption. This was one in which we were able to establish a direct relationship with our son's birth parents, but we and the birth parents had the added support of Adoption STAR staff to help walk us through the process.
We were especially grateful for the work the Birth Parent Advocates did to help support Tommy's birth parents, A & M, in knowing all their options and assisting them with whatever needs they had. They continue to offer post-placement support, which has been invaluable. Even two years post-placement, Tommy's birth parents continue to maintain contact with the agency and their advocate!
