The Network

We're connected with a wonderful adoption agency, Adoption STAR, located in Williamsville, NY with additional offices in Florida and Ohio.  We've had a wonderful relationship with them since our first adoption; and we appreciate the support, services, and resources they provide to all members of the adoption triad, even post-adoption.

While we are enrolled in their Traditional Domestic Adoption track, we are also doing our own networking, as we did during our first adoption.  We again ordered adoption cards from Adoption Pass Along Cards, formerly known as Spaces for Faces, which can be given to expectant parents wanting to learn more about us.  We've also started a Twitter Feed and of course, we have this Blog!  We've been so excited to share our plans with family, friends, colleagues, and anyone who's open to talking about adoption!

If you or someone you know is considering the loving choice of adoption for her baby, we thank you for taking the time to learn more about us!

Thousand Cranes: Part Deux

Before our son came into our lives, we struggled with years of infertility and were involved in various treatments in the hopes of having a child.  It was a challenging time for us, but we are able to look back and see that this was part of the journey that brought us to our son.  It is true when they say, "everything happens for a reason."

During our medical treatments and through the adoption process, we busied ourselves with the project of folding a thousand cranes.  A Japanese legend reads that one who folds a thousand cranes will have his or her wish come true...

Until recently (Tommy loves to grab at all the things he's not supposed to!), these cranes were hanging up in our son's room, as a reminder of all our hopes and wishes for him.

As we now enter a new chapter in the story of our family, we've decided to again fold a thousand cranes, in the hopes of our next child's arrival.

Let the folding begin!!!
